Man Charged With Santa Cruz Shooting
Police arrived to the scene of the June shooting to find a victim losing a significant amount of blood after getting shot in the leg.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a June 3 shooting in Santa Cruz, police said.
Marquez J. Blanchard, 27, was arrested in Scotts Valley, on a warrant, according to jail records and a Santa Cruz Police Department news release. He was booked into Santa Cruz County jail and faces felony charges of assaulting a person with a semi-automatic firearm, illegally possessing ammunition, being a felon in possession of a gun and carrying a loaded gun as a felon, jail records show.
Blanchard was involved in a shooting reported in the 400 block of Cedar Street, Lt. Warren Barry said in a news release. Officers arrived to the scene that evening to find a 32-year-old man shot in the leg and bleeding profusely. They applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding and took him to a trauma hospital in San Jose, where he was recovering from his injuries.
