Man Claiming 'Tony' Let Him Stay In Stolen RV Arrested: SC Police

The motor home was found on Josephine Street in Santa Cruz, police said.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man was arrested Thursday after emerging without incident from a reportedly stolen motor home that was parked on Josephine Street in Santa Cruz, according to authorities.

"His story was that some guy named Tony said he could stay in the motor home," the Santa Cruz Police Department said.

Vehicle Abatement Officer Haebe was on morning patrol checking for vehicles creating a public nuisance and health or safety hazards when he came across the RV, the agency said.

"On the chance, suspects with weapons were inside the motor home, he called for back-up," police said. "In quick order, SCPD had officers set up on the motorhome and made announcements over a PA to exit the vehicle."

The subject, identified as Alejandro Eclarino, stepped out and was detained. Police determined he had outstanding arrest warrants, and he was arrested for suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, officials said.
