Man Falsely Claimed To Be Dying From Coronavirus, Police Say
The man was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Police say he pounded on peoples' doors, claiming he was dying.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A Santa Cruz man who was not displaying symptoms of the new coronavirus was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department. Callers reported a drunk driver and man who was pounding on home doors, claiming to be dying from the virus.
Jose Villa Gomez-Garcia, 42, was cleared by doctors and his car was impounded after the incident, police said.
