Man Held At Knifepoint At ATM, Police Say
Police investigated and arrested a man on suspicion of attempted armed robbery.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A week after a man was held at knifepoint in front of an ATM, the Santa Cruz Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the incident. Jesse Tapia, 33, was arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery.
The arrest dates back to an incident last Thursday. A 48-year-old Santa Cruz County resident was trying to get money from an ATM in the 100 block of Church Street when he was approached by Tapia, who held a five-inch knife, police said in a statement.
The man fled and Tapia followed briefly, police said. He reported the crime to Santa Cruz police, who investigated and identified Tapia, police said. Tapia was out on pre-trial release after another arrest in Santa Cruz County.
