Measure H Pavement Striping Planned In Santa Cruz

City of Santa Cruz overlay pavement striping is scheduled for nine streets on various days Monday, Dec. 11, through Friday, Dec. 29.

From the City of Santa Cruz Department of Public Works: City of Santa Cruz overlay pavement striping is scheduled for nine streets on various days Monday, Dec. 11, through Friday, Dec. 29. Speed bumps and detection loops are also planned for installation at two locations. Construction hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for California Street which begins at 7 a.m. Traffic control will be in effect at all locations.

The public is advised to seek alternate routes if possible as there will be delays. Parking will be impacted.
The following construction schedule is predicated on clear weather; any changes will be posted on the City website along with construction area map at www.cityofsantacruz.com.

The striping process will take about three weeks and is scheduled to begin on Monday, Dec. 11, and conclude on Friday, Dec. 29, for the following locations:

o King Street from Bay Street to Mission Street
o Escalona Drive from Bay Street to Laurel Street
o Natural Bridges Drive from Mission Street Extension to Delaware Avenue
o Delaware Avenue from Natural Bridges Drive to Swift Street
o Market Street from the Highway 1 overpass to Goss Avenue
o Goss Avenue from Market Street to Elk Street
o California Street from Laurel Street to Bay Street
o Morrissey Boulevard from Water Street to Fairmount Avenue
o West Cliff Drive from the Lighthouse State Park parking lot to Columbia Street

Speed bumps are scheduled to be installed and utilities to be raised on California Street from Laurel Street to Bay Street the week of Dec. 11.

Detection loops are scheduled to be installed on Morrissey Boulevard at the intersection with Fairmount Avenue on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Utilities are planned to be raised on West Cliff Drive from the Lighthouse State Park parking lot to Columbia Street the week of Dec. 11.

This construction work is part of the 2017 Overlay Project and Fall 2016 Overlay Project. Both projects, funded by Measure H tax dollars, are rehabilitating local streets that have experienced significant deterioration and are expected to be completed by Dec. 29.
