At this lecture, learn about local legend Ed Ricketts and his colleague Jack Calvin in their efforts to publish their seminal work, Between Pacific Tides. Now hailed as pioneers of modern marine ecology, Ricketts & Calvin may have been delayed for their then-unconventional approach. The discovery of numerous letters between Ricketts, Calvin, publishers, and specialists provide insight into the arduous 10 year process of publishing this work.
