In Santa Cruz - Naturalist Night: Plastics and Ocean Health

Come to the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History for Naturalist Night and explore the diverse natural history of Santa Cruz.

Learn how plastics affect our ocean with Rachel Kippen from Save Our Shores. She will share the amazing projects our community has developed to fight plastic pollution and the impact of recent campaigns to reduce plastic items from our waste stream.

Over the last 30 years, Save Our Shores has been locally responsible for helping to establish the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, preventing offshore oil drilling and cruise ship pollution, and bringing together diverse stakeholders to find common solutions to ocean issues.
