New Leaf Community Markets Donates $5,000 Grant to Teen Kitchen Project

Teen Kitchen Project delivers its 70,000th meal to local individuals or families in crisis due to a life-threatening illness like cancer.

New Leaf Community Markets has selected Teen Kitchen Project (TKP) as the beneficiary of a $5,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation (NOF).

NOF looked to New Leaf to nominate a local organization that is implementing model solutions to address fresh food access and nutrition education in underserved communities. NOF is an independent, private foundation formed in 2005 by Paul Newman to sustain the legacy of his philanthropic work. Since 1982, when Paul Newman first declared, “Let’s give it all away,” more than $485 million has been donated to thousands of nonprofit organizations around the world.

“We are very pleased that Teen Kitchen Project will receive this generous grant from NOF. New Leaf has been a supporter and partner of Teen Kitchen since it was founded in 2012,” said Kate Halper, Marketing Manager for New Leaf Community Markets. “Our partnership with Teen Kitchen Project is a natural fit for us given our shared belief in the power of healthy foods and community outreach to help families in need. We also share a commitment to teaching our youth about cooking and making good food choices,” said Halper.
