Paving Work Impacts Santa Cruz Streets
Paving work will impact King and other Santa Cruz Streets during the week of November 6th.
SANTA CRUZ, CA - From the City of Santa Cruz: City of Santa Cruz 2017 Overlay Project work will occur on King Street, Escalona and Natural Bridges drives, Delaware and Goss avenues and Morrissey Boulevard on various days Monday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 10with traffic impacts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project, funded by Measure H tax dollars, is rehabilitating local streets that have experienced significant deterioration.
On Monday, Nov. 6, the project will grind existing asphalt concrete on King Street, from Peyton to east Mission Street. On Friday, Nov. 10, the first asphalt layer will be installed on King Street from Bay to east Mission Street. On these dates, King Street will include major detours with one-way traffic only. The public is advised to seek alternate routes if possible.
From Tuesday, Nov. 7, through Wednesday, Nov. 8, lighter construction work will occur on King Street at various locations. Traffic control will be in effect with some delays.

From Monday, Nov. 6, through Friday, Nov. 10, a storm drain pipe will be installed on Escalona Drive from Bay Street to Van Ness Avenue. Traffic control will direct one-way traffic with detours.
From Wednesday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 9, asphalt pavement will be installed on Natural Bridges Drive from Mission Street Extension to Delaware Avenue. Major detours with one-way traffic only will be in effect. The public is advised to seek alternate routes if possible.

On Thursday, Nov. 9, the project will wedge-grind existing asphalt concrete on Delaware Avenue from Natural Bridges Drive to east of Swanton Boulevard. Traffic control will be in effect with some delays.
Also on Thursday, Nov. 9, the project will wedge-grind existing asphalt concrete on Goss Avenue. Traffic control will direct one-way traffic with detours with some delays.
On Friday, Nov. 10, the project will grind existing asphalt concrete on Morrissey Boulevard from Fairmount Avenue to Soquel Avenue. Traffic control will be in effect for two-way traffic with some delays and parking will be impacted.
The entire 2017 Overlay project is expected to be completed by Dec. 22 in time for the winter holidays. A construction map and schedule can be found on the City website: www.cityofsantacruz.com.
