The cancellation was announced Tuesday afternoon.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — After local officials, residents and businesses scrambled to ready for a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff that was slated to begin Wednesday, the utility announced Tuesday afternoon the outage was cancelled.
Approximately 303,000 customers in portions of 25 counties had been notified by PG&E about a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff starting Wednesday, and some Santa Cruz County residents and businesses were among those impacted.

The county had been working with PG&E to locate community resource centers that could provide power and refreshments to impacted residents. Residents were also urged to charge their phones and backup chargers, have flashlights and batteries available, stock enough nonperishable food and water to last several days, make sure any generators could be safely operated and learn how to open a garage door without power.
