Power Being Restored In Santa Cruz County; Tuesday Shutoff TBD
PG&E is tracking a new potential wind event that may impact Santa Cruz County beginning Tuesday.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — PG&E has given the all clear for the Public Safety Power Shutoff that began Saturday, and now the utility is in the process of restoring power across Santa Cruz County.
"We are advised re-energization could take up to 48 hours, although many PG&E customers will see power come back on sooner, and some customers waited longer to have their power restored during the last PSPS event," said Jason Hoppin, spokesman for the County of Santa Cruz.
"Power restoration requires visual inspection of lines, including by helicopter. Residents may see increases in those types of activities in their neighborhoods. PG&E cautions that wind damage on the system is expected, and power restoration in damaged areas may be delayed," Hoppin said.

In addition, PG&E is tracking a new potential wind event that may impact Santa Cruz County. A PSPS could begin as early as Tuesday morning, however PG&E is signaling that the footprint of this event may not be as big as earlier projections; the county is working with the utility to determine whether Santa Cruz County will still be impacted, Hoppin said.
There are reports of wind damage and downed trees throughout the county. However, roads were minimally impacted over the weekend. There was a brief closure of Granite Creek Road.
