Prestigious Law Firm Promotes UC Santa Cruz Alum

CHICAGO – A UC Santa Cruz graduate has been promoted at a prestigious Chicago law firm.

Keller Lenkner announced last week it was promoting Kathryn Couey to associate.

Couey has served as a law clerk to Judge Robert M. Dow, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She was previously an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she represented clients in class actions and other complex commercial litigation.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from UC Santa Cruz Couey attended Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where she graduated cum laude.

She served as Articles Editor for the school’s Law Review and was a member of the National Moot Court Team.

The current focus of her practice includes products liability. Couey has litigated high-profile cases including the multi-district 3M Combat Arms Earplug case.
