Proposed Childcare And Public Safety Impact Fee In Santa Cruz

The Childcare and Public Safety Impact Fee are fees charged on new residential and nonresidential development.

On April 13th, City Council will consider the adoption of two new fees. The Childcare and Public Safety Impact Fee are fees charged on new residential and nonresidential development. Fee revenues would be used to sustain existing levels of service and/or provide expanded levels of service for childcare facilities and fire and police facilities, apparatuses, vehicles, and equipment. A graduated fee schedule is being proposed over a three year period. Review the Graduated Fee Schedule and Nexus Study for each fee below.

While the two fees will be presented on April 13th, formal adoption is scheduled for April 27, 2021. If approved, fees will be effective 60 days after April 23rd - after the adoption of the implementing resolutions.
