Register to Host Garage Sale in Santa Cruz Annual Event

From the City of Santa Cruz Public Works: Residents of Santa Cruz and Live Oak are invited to join the 18th annual City of Santa Cruz Garage Sale Weekend, June 3-4, by hosting a sale on one or both days. The annual event promotes local reuse, repair and resale opportunities.

The City sponsored event offers free promotion of residents’ sales and free garage sale kits providing incentive to do some spring cleaning and allow discards to have a second life. There is also that extra cash and extra space generated by selling unneeded items including clothes, toys and dishware.

Residents who host garage sales may register online to be included as part of the Garage Sale Treasure Map. The map, which is smartphone and tablet compatible, is designed to help shoppers locate sales or search for specific items.

Upon registering, residents may order a garage sale kit which contains bright yellow street signs, labels for pricing items and a booklet of helpful tips. Kits will be mailed out promptly.

The City will promote Garage Sale Weekend in local newspapers, online and through the University of California, Santa Cruz, to help boost garage sale attendance.
