Remember Local Seniors By Sending Cards, Activities

Care facility residents haven't been able to have visitors, so mail and puzzles have brightened their days.

Press release from Family Service Agency of the Central Coast:

March 16, 2021

When a person goes into a care facility, they face a profound set of challenges including physical, emotional and social isolation. Since the pandemic started residents have faced an additional set of challenges and haven’t been able to have visitors. Community members can help reduce some of the loneliness and isolation residents are faced with.

One way is to send “Thinking of You” cards, special occasion cards or create your own card! Most people like to receive mail, and this is a way to help brighten their day and let seniors know they are remembered.

We are also collecting activity items to help reduce some of the isolation seniors may feel. Suggested items are: Crossword Puzzles, Word Search Books, Adult Coloring Books and colored pencils and crayons.
