'Restaurant: Impossible' Tears up Hoffman's Bistro Downtown
Buff Food Network host Robert Irvine was in town to remake Hoffman's Bistro and Patisserie, which has been open for a decade.

Ed Hoffman, who has owned  at 1102 Pacific Ave., since 2001, was picked for a restaurant makeover by the Food Channel show Restaurant: Impossible.
On Sunday the Hollywood crew moved in, taking over the back parking lot and setting up lights, camera and action in the restaurant.

Monday, they filmed and interviewed the last random diners eating in what will be the old Hoffman's. Tuesday at 6 p.m., after a $10,000 makeover, the first meals in the new place will be served.
Hoffman used to work at the Old Theater Cafe and continues its tradition of fine, European-style baked goods.
