2 Girls Missing In Separate Bay Area Cases Found

The 11- and 12-year-olds both were reported missing Wednesday morning in Union City and Mountain View.

BAY AREA, CA – Two girls, 11 and 12 years old, who both went missing Wednesday morning in separate Bay Area incidents, were located on Thursday, according to officials.

On Thursday night, the Mountain View Police Department reported 11-year-old Diana Flores-Leiva was located and found safe. She was last reportedly seen carrying a backpack Wednesday before 9 a.m. at the intersection of the El Camino Real and Bay Street.

"Thank you all for helping to spread the word," the agency said. "As always, it is very much appreciated."

In Union City, Camila Rodriguez, 12, who didn't go to school or return home on Wednesday, and whose cell phone was turned off, was located Thursday morning and reunited with her family, police said.

Union City Police Department officers believe she was voluntarily missing, and did not appear to have been abducted.

Union City police said this morning that they've located a 12-year-old girl reported missing Wednesday after she failed to return home from school.

Camila Rodriguez, of Union City, was last been seen leaving for school with another girl Wednesday morning, police said. She was eventually found after a concerned member of the community called police.

Police say she's since been reunited with her family. Officers believe she was voluntarily missing, and does not appear to have been abducted.

As of mid-morning, the Mountain View Police Department had no updates on 11-year-old Diana Flores-Leiva, who also was last seen on Wednesday morning.

"We do not have any additional updates to share regarding Diana this morning," the Mountain View police said. "Please continue to keep an eye out for her. We are actively investigating this case + will share new information as we have it. If you see Diana, call us at 650-9003-6395."

In two separate cases reported Wednesday, area law enforcement agencies asked for the public's help in locating two girls, 11 and 12, one from Union City and another from Mountain View.

Union City police are asking for the public's help in finding Camila Rodriguez, 12, who didn't go to school or return home on Wednesday, and her cell phone is turned off, police said.

Camila was last seen leaving for school with another girl Wednesday morning, police said. Rodriguez was not reported missing previously and there is no indication why she may have run away, the department said.

She is described as 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 130 pounds with long, wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a Northface windbreaker and jeans. Anyone with information on Camila is asked to call Union City police at (510) 471-1365.

According to Union City police Sgt. Mike Mahaney, the other girl leaving for school with Rodriguez on Wednesday morning was also reported missing from Hayward, but no further information was immediately available from Hayward police.

In a separate case from Mountain View, police are asking for the public's help in locating 11-year-old Diana Flores-Leiva, who also was last seen on Wednesday morning, according to police.

Police said Diana was last seen before 9 a.m. at the intersection of the El Camino Real and Bay Street.

According to police, she was wearing a green sweatshirt with the word "PINK" on it, jeans, black shoes and a black backpack.

Diana is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who sees her is asked to call Mountain View police at (650) 903-6395 or 911.
