Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Offers Holiday Drive-In Movies

See which Christmas classics made the cut for a three-day, drive-in holiday movie extravaganza this month.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will be screening three Christmas-themed drive-in movies this month in celebration of the holiday season.

The three-day extravaganza will kick off Friday Nov. 27 with a 6 p.m. screening of "The Polar Express." Saturday Nov. 28 will bring a 6 p.m. screening of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and Sunday, Nov. 29 will feature a 6 p.m. screening of "Elf."

Presale tickets for "Elf" are already sold out, but a limited number of tickets will be available at the event, according to the boardwalk.

The movies will be screened at the River parking lot, located at Beach and Third streets.

The cost is $35 per car, and up to 120 cars may attend the events. Pre-packaged food and beverages will be available for purchase.

People must stay in their cars unless they're using the bathroom. Masks should be worn at all times people are not in the cars.

Gates will open 90 minutes before showtime. Parking is first-come, first-served.

The boardwalk said on Facebook that it may announce additional dates for holiday films, depending on weather forecasts.
