Santa Cruz County Adoption Fees Slashed For Kittens, Cats

Adoptions are just $25 during the November "Pay it Forward" special.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Need a furry friend in your life these days? Who doesn't.

Adoption prices for cats or kittens are just $25 during the month of November, as part of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter's "Pay it Forward" special. This includes fees for spay or neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, treatment for fleas and worms, a cat carrier and a free pet wellness exam with participating veterinarians.

The shelter is overloaded with cats and kittens, the shelter said in a news release.

How can you pay it forward, you ask?

The shelter asks that you donate another $25 to the Planned Pethood Fund (funds free spay and neuter surgeries), Extra Mile Fund (covers rehabilitation for animals beyond what the shelter's budget allows), Healthy pets for All Fund (funds pet food, pet toys, flea medication and other items for underserved animals) or the General Program Donation Fund (supports animal adoption and enrichment, plus public outreach and education).

Visit the shelter from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1001 Rodriguez Street in Santa Cruz.
