Santa Cruz County Beaches Closed For Much Of Labor Day Weekend
Beaches across Santa Cruz County will be under restrictions and the coronavirus pandemic.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Beaches across the county will be under restrictions Labor Day weekend.
The county has also asked those in accomodations to prioritize evacuees over visitors, as more than 900 homes have burned in the CZU August Lightning Complex fires.
Beaches will be closed from 5 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Monday. People can cross the sands to engage in water sports.

Beaches will be briefly open Saturday and Sunday from:
- Capitola: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Santa Cruz: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Unincorporated: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Other nearby beach communities, such as Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pacific Grove and Sand City, will also operate under restrictions.
