Santa Cruz County To Present Debris Flow Virtual Town Halls

County emergency staff have also assessed the risk to residents and provided a debris flow evacuation map.

Santa Cruz County is pleased to announce two virtual town hall events for residents at risk of being impacted by winter debris flow events.

In rainy seasons following severe fires, the risks from flooding, mudflows and debris
flows are significantly elevated, posing a threat to life and property. County emergency
staff have assessed the risk to residents and provided a debris flow evacuation map at
community.zonehaven.com.

The town hall events are an opportunity for residents to learn more and ask quesitons
about debris flow risks, evacuations, and planning efforts. Following the CZU Lightning
Complex fires, the County has met with local first responders, state and local emergency
personnel and local community partners to begin addressing the threat of debris flows
to the community.
