Santa Cruz County Scores Financing For Veterans Village Housing

Veterans Village will redevelop the former Jaye's Timberlane Resort into supportive housing for local veterans and their families.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz County has secured additional financing to complete Veterans Village of Santa Cruz County, a 20-unit permanent supportive housing community for veterans and their families in Ben Lomond, county officials announced.

The project received about $13.3 million in federal low-income housing tax credits over 10 years from the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, along with approval for tax-exempt bond financing through the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee.

Veterans Village will redevelop the former Jaye's Timberlane Resort at 8705 Highway 9 into supportive housing for local veterans and their families, according to the county.

Development is expected to be completed in early 2027, a press release issued Wednesday noted.
