VICTIM(S): Withheld pending next of kin notification.

INFORMATION

The Santa Cruz Police Department (SCPD) and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene of a solo-vehicle accident at the intersection of Western Drive and Mission St. at approximately 2:57 a.m. early this morning. SCPD officers located the vehicle, which was believed to have been traveling southbound on Western Dr. before it collided with a utility pole and several other stationary objects before coming to a rest in the front of a business located at 2841 Mission St. Unfortunately, the solo- occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SCPD Traffic Investigators have been processing the traffic collision scene and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff-Coroner will complete the death investigation. The victim was a 49 year-old female from out of the area. Her identity is being withheld at this time, pending next of kin notification.
