Santa Cruz Seeks Volunteers For Senior Valentine's Day Card Project
I-You Venture is collecting handmade cards and other items to deliver to seniors in assisted and skilled nursing facilities.
SANTA CRUZ, CA – The I-You Venture program is seeking volunteers to create Valentine's Day and "Thinking of You" cards for seniors residing in assisted and skilled nursing facilities. This initiative aims to combat loneliness and isolation among care facility residents by providing them with personalized mail.
Most people appreciate receiving mail, and this project offers a way to bring smiles to their faces. The program welcomes participation from individuals, groups, and schools in the Santa Cruz area.
In addition to cards, the I-You Venture suggests other items that can help alleviate stress and loneliness for seniors. These include crossword puzzles, word search books, and adult coloring books. Such activities can provide engaging entertainment and mental stimulation.
