Santa Cruz Surfer Accused Of Sex Crimes Involving A Minor

Lucas Klatt, 39, is being held on a $100,000 bond for crimes involving a victim under age 15. Police believe there may be more victims.

SANTA CRUZ, CA – A 39-year-old man known in the local surfing community has been arrested and accused of committing various sex crimes involving a minor, the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday.

Lucas Klatt was arrested Monday on charges of annoying or molesting a child, lewd acts with a victim under the age of 15, stalking and burglary. The Sheriff’s Department believes there may be more victims.

Klatt pleaded not guilty on July 17 to his charges, KION reported. He's next due in court Aug. 11.
