Santa Cruz Volunteers Asked To Send Father's Day Cards To Seniors In Care Facilities
Family Service Agency and I-You Venture are collecting cards and small comfort items for seniors in care facilities.
Santa Cruz residents who want to mark Father's Day with a simple act of kindness have a chance to do it close to home. Family Service Agency and I-You Venture are asking for volunteers to write Father's Day and Thinking of You cards for seniors in assisted and skilled nursing facilities.
According to the announcement, residents in care facilities are often lonely and isolated, and a card can help brighten their day. The effort is aimed at reminding seniors that they are not forgotten.
The card drive is open to a wide range of participants, including schools and individuals, community organizations, classrooms, and families looking for a local service activity.
