Santa Cruz Welcomes Two New Councilmembers
At special meeting held on April 7, the Santa Cruz City Council voted 5-0,with 2 councilmembers absent, to certify Primary Election results.

SANTA CRUZ, CA – At a special meeting held on April 7, 2020, the Santa Cruz City Council voted 5-0,with 2 councilmembers absent, to certify the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election results. In addition to Measure W and Measure X receiving enough votes to pass, Drew Glover was recalled with Renee Golder elected as his replacement and Chris Krohn was recalled with Katherine Beiers elected as his replacement.

Renee Golder’s term will allow her to serve through December 2022. She has served as a bilingual elementary school teacher for the past 20 years.
Katherine Beiers’ term will allow her to serve through December 2020. She was first appointed to the City Council thirty years ago to fill the unexpired term of another councilmember before being elected to the council for three full terms and serving twice as mayor.
