Search For Missing Hiker In Santa Cruz Co. Turns Up Man's Body

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department is reporting that a man's body has been found man near a quarry just north of Santa Cruz, but officials have not confirmed if it is that of missing hiker Haesl Green who was last seen July 24.

"We have not confirmed the identity of the man at this time. We will release addition information when it becomes available," the sheriff's office announced.

Green was last seen while hiking in the 1000 block of Bonny Doon Road not far from the old Bonny Doon Limestone & Shale mine. According to reports, he was mining for minerals with a friend and went to get water but never returned.
