See Smoke? Controlled Burn In Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A controlled burn by Cal Fire will send up smoke starting Wednesday morning near Ben Lomond, authorities said Tuesday.

The training burn will take place starting 9 a.m. on private property west of Boulder Creek, near Cal Fire CZU's Ben Lomond Training Center.

The exercise, involving both new and returning seasonal firefighters, will burn about 10 acres of grass, Cal Fire said. Smoke may ve visible throughout parts of Santa Cruz County Wednesday.
