Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller's Kids To Benefit From Education Fund
Community members may make a donation to the fund created by Liberty Bank of San Lorenzo Valley, in honor of the fallen sergeant.

SAN LORENZO VALLEY, CA — An education fund has been set up to benefit the children of fallen Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller, who was killed in a volley of gunfire and explosives while responding to a call in Ben Lomond.
Gutzwiller had a young son with wife, Favi Del Real, who was weeks away from giving birth to their second child at the time of his June 17 memorial service.
The fund was established thanks to Liberty Bank of San Lorenzo Valley, Sheriff Jim Hart, and other sheriff's office veterans and San Lorenzo Valley community members, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
