Shooter Leaves Man With Multiple Wounds; No Arrest Made
The shooting was reported Monday afternoon in Santa Cruz. Police said they also arrested a drug dealer while at the scene of the crime.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man was shot multiple times Monday afternoon in Santa Cruz, the Santa Cruz Police Department said Tuesday.
Police received word gunshots were fired around 12:15 p.m. and responded to a complex in the 100 block of Leibrandt Avenue. Officers arrived and found the man with multiple gunshot wounds.
Medics took him to a trauma center in the Bay Area.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected evidence, but police have no additional information about the shooter. Police ask anyone with information to contact investigators at 831-420-5820.
While police investigated the shooting Monday night, an officer stopped a man running though the complex.

Eduardo Diaz, on probation for selling drugs, was found to have 3.3 ounces of heroin packaged, a scale and $1,200 in cash, police said.
Diaz was taken to jail.
