Santa Cruz Shooting Suspect On The Loose; Victim Recovering
Police said they arrived to find a victim shot in the leg, losing a lot of blood.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz Police responded to the scene of a shooting Wednesday night and found a victim bleeding profusely after getting shot in the leg, police said.
Police found the victim, a 32-year-old man, around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of Cedar Street and applied a tourniquet. The victim was transferred the victim to a San Jose trauma hospital and is currently recovering, police said.
The motive is currently unknown, but the shooting is not connected to a Black Lives Matter march simultaneously taking place, police said.

Detectives collected evidence from the scene, and are interviewing the victim and witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 831-420-5820.
