Soquel Man Dies In Car Crash: CHP

SOQUEL, CA — A 42-year-old Soquel man died Saturday after crashing into a concrete pillar, the California Highway Patrol reports.

On Saturday at about 1 a.m., Carlos Deleon of Soquel was driving his 2005 Pontiac west on Soquel Drive, according to a CHP report. For unknown reasons, Deleon lost control of his car, and collided into a concrete pillar in the center median.

Deleon suffered major injuries, and was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel, CHP said.

The collision remains under investigation. CHP said that as of Tuesday it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
