Monday, April 1st

Why Go: The celebration lasts all week long and includes a meet and greet near the bumper cars each day by Nickelodeon's SpongeBob and Patrick Star. The Surfing Magician will perform each day by the Logger's Revenge at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., and fly across the beach on the Fly Wire Zipline, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Rides and attractions run all day.
What: Kids Cooking Camp with Chef Lauren Hoover-West
When: 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (Mon. - Fri.)
Where: New Leaf Community Markets, 1101 Fair Ave.
Cost: $150/child
Why Go: If you want your kids (ages 6 to 12) to enjoy nutritious foods more, then this may be the class for them. Cookbook author and Chef Lauren Hoover-West instructs these hands-on cooking courses where your child will learn to make dishes, desserts and more that are free of refined sugar, dairy, gluten, and corn.
Tuesday, April 3rd
What: Tumble-On-Tuesdays at JuneBug's Gym
When: 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. (and Fridays)
Where: JuneBug's Gym
Cost: $10/hr or $25/3 hrs (10% sibling discount)
Why Go: Need to get some errands done or want to enjoy lunch with a friend? Let the kids get some skillful fun and exercise in while you get some much needed mom or dad time. What: The 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands on Beach Stage
When: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Where: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Cost: Free
Why Go: Judge for yourself. Watch the bands each perform three songs. Vote for your favorite band to win a $1000 cash prize and bragging rights.
What: Younger Lagoon Reserve Tour
When: 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Where: Seymour Marine Discovery Center
Cost: Free with admission; Reservation required.
Why Go: This bi-monthly tour is the only time the 75-acre research reserve is open to the public. Active adults and children over 10 will enjoy a short hike and the beach habitat of the lagoon.
What: Women's Art and Social Club
When: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Where: Palace Arts; 41st Avenue
Cost: $99/Four-week session; $25/Drop-In
Why Go: This new Art Class is welcome to all levels, and helps individuals reduce anxiety about creating art. Socialize while exploring different themes, mixed media, drawing, and writing.
