Stranger Hugs Girl, 11, In Santa Cruz County Store
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is searching for the suspect following the disturbing incident.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly hugged a little girl from behind while in a store. The disturbing incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. on June 2.
Authorities said a mother and her 11-year-old daughter were shopping in a store in the area of 30th Avenue and Portola Drive on Saturday night when a man suddenly hugged the girl. He was quickly kicked out of the store and remains at large, according to the sheriff’s office. He remains at large.
Authorities released surveillance video of the suspect in hopes of identifying him. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (831) 471-1121 and reference case 18-04816.
