Summer Family Movie Nights Return In Santa Cruz County

Friday's free movie night is being kicked off with a community meeting that seeks public input on county parks' design.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Bring the kids to help officials design a local park, then stick around for a free outdoor screening of "How to Train Your Dragon 2." On Friday at 6:30 p.m., the Santa Cruz County Department of Parks, Open Space and Cultural Resources will hold the first in a series of public meetings to seek community input on Phase II of the Farm Park, which will include recreational features and related amenities including a proposed pedestrian bridge with connecting ADA trail, playgrounds, skating and bike features, half-court basketball and bocce ball courts, picnic areas with ADA-compliant tables, permanent restrooms, riparian restoration and

more.

The "pop-up" community meeting will take place at Heart of Soquel Park Plaza, 4740 Soquel
Dr., Soquel (behind Tara Redwood School). An 8 p.m. screening of "How to Train Your Dragon 2" will follow in the park. Low chairs, blankets and jackets are recommended; no alcohol will be allowed. G's Mexican Tacos truck will be on hand for those wishing to purchase food.

Summer Family Movie Nights return in 2019 to two locations: Heart of Soquel Park and
Felt Street Park. Showings include "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," "Lego Movie 2,"
"Incredibles 2," and "Wonder Park."
