Teen Arrested After Firing Gun Into Home, Police Say
The 16-year-old was under the influence of drugs, police said.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz Police Department said officers arrested a 16-year-old boy Thursday after observing him shoot into an apartment.
Nobody was injured.
Callers reported seeing the boy near Pacific Avenue and Laurel Streets with a gun protruding from his waistband. They arrived and found him, just in time to see him shoot into the floor of an apartment, police said.

The boy was under the influence of drugs and had a Glock 9mm handgun with a 17-round magazine, police said.
He was arrested on suspicion of having a gun while under the influence of drugs, being a minor with a concealable gun and ammunition, having a gun without a serial number, having a high capacity magazine and endangering a child, police said.

He was booked into Juvenile Hall.
