Thousands In Santa Cruz County Within PSPS Boundaries
Residents could lose power from Wednesday to Friday night.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — About 5,000 Santa Cruz County residents will likely lose power in a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. public safety power shutoff forecast to begin Wednesday night.
The power shutoff will likely begin from 8 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, with full power restoration by 10 p.m. Friday. The power shutoff comes as a red flag warning is in effect, indicating the National Weather Service believes weather conditions are conducive to the spread of wildfire.
The following areas are set to be included in the power shutoff:

- Summit Area, from Castle Rock State Park to the upper Corralitos area
- upper San Lorenzo Valley, including parts of Boulder Creek
Santa Cruz County was initially told 6,000 households could be in the dark Wednesday night, though PG&E has since slightly scaled back the boundaries of the regions forecast to lose power in Santa Cruz County. The Davenport/Swanton Road areas are no longer included in the PSPS forecast.
Residents will be able to charge devices and medical equipment at the following locations from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. until power is restored:

- Unitarian Universal Fellowship (6401 Freedom Blvd., Aptos)
- St. Michael's Church (13005 Pine St., Boulder Creek)
- Highlands Park (8500 Highway 9, Ben Lomond)
- Enterprise Technology Center (100 Enterprise Way, Scotts Valley)
A fifth center may be in the works, according to the county.
