Threat At Santa Cruz Middle School Deemed ‘Not Credible’

The handwritten message was discovered on a bathroom stall, police said.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Police are investigating a handwritten threat discovered on a Santa Cruz middle school campus Tuesday. A custodian found the message, which contained a ‘threat of violence,” on a bathroom stall at Mission Hill Middle School, police said.

Although the threat isolated to Mission Hill, and has been deemed “not credible” by police, extra officers will be on campus Thursday “in an abundance of caution,” according to authorities.

Chief Andrew Mills said, “It is important to talk to our children about safety and the need to speak up to police or administrators if they heard or saw anything that concerns them.”
