UCSC Republican Club Booth Attacked During Event

A student spit on an American flag, pulled down the group's sign and knocked over a conservative activist, KSBW reported.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A conservative free speech activist and booth run by the University of California, Santa Cruz Republican Club were attacked by two students during a tabling event, KSBW reported.

The event was for activist Hayden Williams, who was attacked last year at UC Berkeley. The Alameda County District Attorney's Office filed three felony charges and a misdemeanor charge against Zachary Greenberg, charged with threatening punching Williams in the face, CNN reported.

A student tried to rip a Trump 2020 flag from Williams's hands and knocked him over, KSBW reported. The student pulled down the club's sign and spit on a 13-star Betsy Ross American flag, which some view as a symbol of racism and slavery in an older era of U.S. history.
