Visit Santa Cruz County Welcomes New Sales And Marketing Director

Visit Santa Cruz County (VSCC) announces that a new Sales and Marketing Director has been hired. Chuck Ryder has joined VSCC staff, effective July 13, 2020.

His previous experience with Visit Vancouver and the San Jose Convention and Visitor Bureau provided valuable experience working with destination marketing organizations. Chuck served as Director of Sales for the Santa Cruz Seaside Company and worked in similar positions with the Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley and the University Inn and Conference Center, which was sold and remodeled and is now The Hotel Paradox.

“Chuck brings to Visit Santa Cruz County an impressive breadth and depth of sales experience, from a lodging and attraction standpoint as well as a destination perspective,” said Maggie Ivy, CEO and Executive Vice President of VSCC. “His familiarity with our region and past experience building trust and credibility in the community will serve him well as we make plans for tourism recovery efforts as the industry opens for business again.”

An accomplished tourism executive, Chuck brings nearly 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, to his new position. He will be responsible for sales in the areas of digital promotions, conferences and meetings, weddings, and cooperative opportunities for local tourism-related businesses, among other duties.
