Many state parks in Santa Cruz County are still open for the holiday weekend, but guests must follow some safety restrictions.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — While California State Parks officials urge people to skip road trips and remain near home amid the pandemic, many of Santa Cruz County's pristine state parks and beaches will be open to the public for the July 4, 2020 holiday weekend.
Guests must maintain physical distancing from those not in their household and wear a face covering when that is not possible, according to the state parks website. No gatherings, picnics or fireworks will be allowed.
People may be asked to leave, if social distancing is not possible, parks officials said.
