Water Tour: Fish Seining on Soquel Creek

Sun., Oct. 4th, 8:30 am to 1:30 p.m., Capitola Village

Join the Coastal Watershed Council and fisheries biologist Don Alley to see the fish of Soquel Creek up close! At this family-friendly tour, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about fish ecology, see living fish and get involved! A boat just upstream of the Stockton Bridge in the Village of Capitola will drop a seine net in the water, which will then be lifted to pull in and safely capture fish. Throughout the day steelhead trout will be caught and checked for markers, from which biologists can estimate the number of steelhead living in Soquel Creek. RSVP required. Email djchirco@coastal-watershed.org or call (831) 464-9200 today! Thank you to the City of Capitola for funding the water tour series.
