Woman Killed In Single-Car Crash

The crash occurred early Monday in Santa Cruz, police said.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A driver was killed early Monday morning in a single-car crash at Western Drive and Mission Street.

The driver was likely traveling south on Western, and hit a pole and other objects before her car came to a rest, the Santa Cruz Police Department said in a written statement. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her car stopped in front of a business in the 2800 block of Mission.

The driver, whose name has not been released since police are trying to notify her family, was 49 years old and lived out of the area.
