Woman Nearly Runs Down SC Police Officer In Failed Getaway
The woman was identified as 42-year-old Pascal Cheong of Georgia.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A 42-year-old Georgia woman suspected of regularly shoplifting from a Santa Cruz grocery store tussled with police Friday morning, nearly running an officer down with her vehicle, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department.
Santa Cruz police had been investigating reports of a woman who was stealing from the Safeway located on Mission Street, and Friday attempted to make contact with her in the store's parking lot, according to the SCPD. The woman refused to comply and tried to drive off in her car, almost striking an officer, police said.
An officer had to break one of the car's window's to get the woman to stop, and she continued struggling with officers as they got her out of the vehicle, according to the SCPD.

The woman was identified as Pascal Cheong; she was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault on officers with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, trespassing and shoplifting.
The officer that was nearly run over by Cheong sustained a few bumps and bruises, but is doing okay, according to the SCPD.
