1 Dead, Another Hospitalized In Possible Drug Overdose In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, CA — One person died and the other was hospitalized in a possible drug overdose in Santa Monica on Tuesday, police reported.

Officers were sent to investigate two men that were laying down behind the public restrooms in Palisades Park, the Santa Monica Police Department said on social media.

One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was taken to the hospital, police said. Officials do not suspect foul play as a factor, but drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, police said.

Officers are investigating the death as an overdose.
