Ocean Bacteria Warning Issued For 2 Santa Monica Areas

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued a warning, advising the public to avoid swimming, surfing and playing in ocean waters at two Santa Monica areas.

The areas tested positive for elevated bacteria levels that exceed state health standards and could cause people to become sick.

The warning applies to the following locations:

• Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
• Santa Monica Canyon Creek at Will Rogers State Beach, near Will Rogers Tower 18, 100 yards up and down the coast from the creek.
