• Music Fest Nixed Due to Coastal Erosion (newser.com) — A major beachfront music festival planned for Santa Monica later this month has been canceled after powerful surf and storm runoff eroded much of the sandy venue, making it unsafe for large crowds. City officials say automatic ticket refunds will go out within a week, while similar coastal damage is affecting Malibu, Dana Point, and other Southern California communities.
