Lighthouse Christian Academy delivered a dominant performance against Vista Meridian Global Academy, earning a decisive 56-6 victory after building a commanding lead early in the game Friday.
From the opening kickoff, Lighthouse showed its determination to control the matchup. The team took a 40-6 lead into halftime, putting itself in a strong position heading into the second half.
One of the biggest defensive moments came in the fourth quarter when Morgan Miles, wearing number 45, broke through the offensive line and sacked Vista Meridian's quarterback.
The hit forced a fumble, creating a major defensive play for Lighthouse and bringing added pressure to the opposing offense.
"That was fantastic," proud mom Yilun Su said. "He reacted fast and did his job."
In the resulting mayhem of players trying to recover, LCA sophomore Justice Neos found the ball and ran for another touchdown.
Morgan's fourth-quarter sack highlighted Lighthouse's defensive effort and showed how the team continued to compete even with a large lead.
For Morgan, the play was a standout moment in a game where Lighthouse controlled the scoreboard from start to finish.
Lighthouse maintained its advantage through the final whistle, securing a 56-6 victory over Vista Meridian.
With a strong first half and key defensive plays late in the game, Lighthouse Christian Academy put together an impressive performance, while Morgan's sack and forced fumble provided one of the game's most memorable moments.
