Artist Honors Anthony Bourdain With New Santa Monica Mural
The 13-foot-tall mural is painted on the side of Santa Monica's new Gramercy bar on 25th Street and Wilshire Boulevard.

SANTA MONICA, CA – Prolific Los Angeles artist Jonas Never revealed a gorgeous mural paying tribute to Anthony Bourdain on June 15. The 13-foot-tall mural is painted on the side of Santa Monica's new Gramercy bar on 25th Street and Wilshire Boulevard.
Never paints murals that he described to Eater LA as "realistic, nostalgic, and location specific." He decided to paint a mural to honor Bourdain because the chef did an incredible job showcasing cities in a way that appealed to both locals and "out of towners," he told Patch.
"I've always strived for that same dynamic in my murals," he said. "When I'd travel for painting, I'd always try to go to the places Tony went to on his shows (and he was usually spot-on with his selections)."

Never has painted murals of celebrities and historical figures all around Los Angeles, including the Beastie Boys, Albert Einstein, and even the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
He saw how the world was affected by Bourdain's suicide and the legacy he left behind, so he felt compelled to honor him, the artist told TMZ. Jonas did the mural for free, the news website reported.
